Nitrogen Cycle or aka Tank Cycling is in my words simply put, -setting up a Aquarium so the inhabitants have a healthy life and doesn't die-. And on a higher level, for the Aquarium to sustain itself with minimal maintenance in the long run. This is extremely important and often a topic swept aside by most Fishkeepers. At the start of the hobby, when passion is burning high one would be accepting to the notion of frequent water changes or maintenance. But truth to be told, like many other things life, when the passion ran it's own course, even the simplest act of wiping your tank glass dry after a water change might be a chore to you. Hence having a system that is well set-up is extreme crucial to the maintaining and enjoyment of the hobby.

Nitrogen Cycle was probably unknown during our grandfathers or even fathers' time. But as Science advance, we begin to understand the Science behind fishkeeping. Prolonging our pets' lifespan and making the hobby free of mysteries.

Nitrogen Cycle is simply put, the set-up of your tank's own cycle. It is a natural process (in the Ocean, Lakes, Ponds) that happens everywhere. Your Fishes or any other living Organism/Fish Food you put in the tank (includes rotting plants) will produce Ammonia. And this is just the first stage of the problem in a Fish Tank.
